El Michels Affair meets Liam Bailey is a trans-atlantic collaboration between Nottingham artist Liam Bailey and New York producer El Michels. They've teamed up before on tracks 'Awkward (Take 2)' and 'Walk With Me', which are part of the album Ekundayo Inversions, set for release on 13th August. Re-imagining some of the tracks from Bailey's album Ekundayo, Ekundayo Inversions uses traditional dub methods, a kind of analogue remixing if you like, in order to create an entirely different sound. All the songs are tied together by WhatsApp messages between Leon and Liam that perfectly narrate the story of this record and their working relationship. Adding to the collection for Ekundayo Inversions, Liam Bailey meets El Michels drop a an entirely fresh creation, 'King'. Electric piano chords introduce the track and Liam Bailey's vocals are impassioned from the onset as he moves through half-sung, half-spoken words.
